Baritone Ukulele

The Baritone Ukulele is the largest instrument in the ukulele family. Other common musical instruments in the ukulele family are in addition to the baritone ukulele are: soprano ukulele, concert ukulele and tenor ukulele.

The normal size of a baritone ukulele is: scale length: 19” or 48 cm, total length: 30” or 76 cm. The standard tuning of a baritone ukulele is DGBE (Helmholtz Notation). This tuning is similar to the tuning of a six string normal guitar and makes the transition from a guitar to a baritone ukulele very easy for the average guitar player.

A baritone ukelele has between 19 and 21 frets although you can find other variations.

The ukulele is a traditionel musical instrument in Hawaii. The ukulele was first brought to Hawaii by a Portugese immigrant and was soon apriciated by the people. In Hawaiian ukulele means "Jumping Flea".
